YOUR CHARACTER'S HISTORY:
Chelsea (born Charmion) was the only child of a middle class family in Greece, just prior to the Dorian invasion. Her father was a palace guard, so she lived in the servants quarters of the castle with her parents. She had never left the palace grounds until her ninth birthday, when curiosity got the better of her and she sneaked out in the dead of night to see what was beyond that towering wall once and for all. She returned home after exploring (not more than a few hundred yards from the gate) and was in bed before her parents even knew she was gone.
After that, Chelsea became cocky in her ability to evade punishment and started wandering the castle at night, even daring to go into the king's personal wing (which was, of course, strictly forbidden) on a few occasions. One night, however, the king heard her footsteps and burst out of his bedroom, catching her. He had grabbed her arm so tightly she thought it might break, but as he started to yell for a guard, she looked up into his face and unknowingly bound him to her. He immediately let her go and sent her on her way with a handful of almonds (an expensive treat at the time). After that, she visited the king every night and was rewarded with another handful of almonds each time. On the night of her tenth birthday, her parents stayed up late, talking and drinking the wine they were given by another guard in celebration. Chelsea waited and waited for them to go to sleep, but after some time, she herself drifted off into slumber. The next morning, the king burst into their chambers, unannounced and with a dozen guards, demanding that Chelsea's father give her to him as a bride. Her father refused, saying that she was far too young to be wed. Driven mad with longing, the king had both of Chelsea's parents killed immediately. Chelsea heard their screams from her bedroom and slipped out of the window and escaped into the town.
The next day, the king had the entire city searched, but Chelsea avoided capture in the nearby forest. After a week of searching, the king could stand it no longer and hung himself in the public square. Hearing the tales of a powerful ruler driven mad with longing, Aro paid no mind at first. However, years later, when Marcus's loyalty wavered, Aro remembered the tale and sent scouts to find the cause of the mad king's obsession. Chelsea was discovered by the Volturi in Athens, where she was living as a mistress to a wealthy land owner. She and the man had a small child together, a boy with dark hair and sad eyes. Enthralled by the trackers' beauty, she willfully left her son and followed them to Volterra, where Aro immediately changed her.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
Chelsea approached the castle alone, wheeling a suitcase behind her. Once she got within sight of the door guards, she ordered one to come and fetch it for her. It had been a longer trip than she had anticipated and she was thankful to once again be within the walls of the city she loved.
She climbed the stairs to the front door and waited for another guard to open it for her before moving inside. Chelsea had never touched the handle of the front door to the Volturi castle in all of her years, and she intended to keep it that way. She was convinced that the doorknob would be quite unpleasant to touch, what with the amount of people who use it throughout the day, all of whom had varying levels of cleanliness. She also thought it was in poor taste for a woman of her standing to stoop to something so low as opening a door for herself.
Once inside, she nodded curtly to the receptionist, who offered her greetings and seemed enthused that she had returned safely. Chelsea hadn't bothered to learn this one's name and she only nodded to shut the girl up. Her voice got on Chelsea's nerves and so she never stopped to speak more in-depth with her.
She spotted Felix, along with a bevy of other guards lining the far end of the entrance hall. She took in a breath and let out a faint sigh. The increased security had brought her mind back to the reality of home and of the impending ball. She didn't like these sorts of things. Not only was she annoyed when Aro spoke with so many people with such enthusiasm, but it also meant more work for her. She was good at identifying future possible members based on the trails they left, but she liked to do it in her own time. She liked to read the newspapers and follow their gloating sprees. Most humans with any measurable amount of talent were eager to let the world know about; however, Chelsea seemed to be one of the few who took the time to see it. If there were multiple probable targets identified at this ball, that meant she would be taking many acquisition reconnaissance trips soon, and she liked to space those out for her own leisure.
She walked up to Felix without greeting him or smiling. She trusted him and did not mind him for the most part, but to show favoritism in front of the other low guards may give them reason to view her as less important.
"Where is Aro?" she asked forcefully. She wanted to report to him, go find Alec and relax for a few moments before she got prepared for the ball.

I just wanted to find some unlucky people who wouldn’t even have enough time to think wrong place, wrong time.
